Diane Detalle & Faustine Badrichani: LAYERS | Dec 1 – 3, 2016
LAYERS, From an Abstract World to to a Figurative World
The Exhibition will include large-scale, expressionist paintings from Diane Detalle and figurative oil paintings and direct plaster sculptures from Faustine Badrichani
Diane Detalle grew up on the French Riviera and graduated in business management before moving to Paris, London and then New York, where she originally worked in the finance sector. Having come to live and work in several countries, it is no small accident that her art reflects a genuine richness and variety. Taking the leap from finance to the art world over 10 years ago, Diane translates her free, energetic and spontaneous spirit into her creations. Diane is exhibiting every year in different cities and countries and is always expanding her horizons.
Diane currently lives and works in New York City
Faustine Badrichani grew up in the French countryside before moving to Paris, and later, London where she embraced a career in finance. After only a couple of years, Faustine realized she had underestimated the strength of her creative will and began attending evening classes at Central St Martin Art School, London. In 2011, she left finance, moving to New York to actively pursue her interest in art. After first creating a series of colorful urban landscapes, Faustine developed a fascination with the female body. Using precise, dynamic brushstrokes, she creates totemic, feminine silhouettes. Her large-scale oil paintings also incorporate other media, such as pastels, ink and collage, offering a multi-layered surface and fostering a multi-faceted interpretation to her work.
