Hee Soo Kim, Remarkable Love
In these collections, the art lover will see my remarkable love story series with my lady expressions from 2022 until now.
My painting projects extend much further into the past, as I have been painting since the mid 1990s, but over the past decade, I developed a multi-layered acrylic textured work process. Each painting evolves over time. My works grow like life forms born from my imagination.
The viewer will note a few styles that I have been developing, but common to them is my love for the thick layering of Acrylic paint, as I focus my emotions and creativity onto canvases. In most of paintings, I allowed layered assemblage imagery and real love. I tried to express the process of convergence of imaginary images and real love through layered assemblage.
In this exhibition, Lips and Conversation works expressed the importance of communication through conversation to restore human disconnected relationships. In addition, Remarkable Love Series works focused on connecting my imaginary love with my lover to reality. Mushroom Clouds sublimated the will to overcome life, love, disappointment, and chaos in the real world through faith in the work.
