John Boone, “Big Picture” | February 2 – 18, 2012
On view: February 2 – 18, 2012 One Art Space presents the American artist John Boone in a solo exhibition. “Idioms are the perfect folk art. They belong to no one, are not authored by anyone, and are used by all who use English. I collect them, edit them, arrange them and hand paint them in an italicized digital font of my design. The font is technical, empirical, and precise while it carries a wide variety of mostly imprecise and casual subject matter. Basically, it is a low tech reflection of commonly expressed thoughts through high tech signage. With roots in Pop, Conceptual, Fluxus, advertising and journalism my artworks are shorthand communication prompts.” -John Boone 17347| ARTICLES:
